  • Since Nones are the fastest growing religious denomination, some people advocate for a complete ban of teaching of religion in schools
  • This would only be of short-term benefit, if of any at all
  • Obviously, by the time students graduate from high school they should have at least some understanding of the world's major religions, such as Christianity, Islam and Buddhism, and the effects they have on global interaction
  • If the teaching of religious ideas in general was banned, students attending public schools would be at a disadvantage because separation of church and state only applies to public schools
  • However, even though the general ideas of these religions should be mentioned, they should not be taught in a spiritual manner  or in a manner that might advertise one religion as better than another
  • Instead, the religions and their central ideas should be taught in an unbiased manner
